RE: JPD with EEAS Application

Dear Sir, Madam,
I am writing to apply for a Junior Professional position in the EU Delegation, offered to prospective young professionals with the European External Action Service.
In the autumn, I have graduated from Corvinius UNIVERSITY in BUDAPEST with a Master of Arts degree in Economics with a GPA of 3.73 out of 4.0.  Before that, in autumn 2015 I have completed my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with magna cum laude honors and a grade point average of 3.83 at Central European University (CEU) with emphasis in International Business. For my academic achievements at CEU, I was awarded the Academic Excellence Scholarship and earned the Outstanding Graduate Bachelor of Business Administration Award 2015. At these two institutions, I completed numerous development – oriented courses with high grades and also received advanced training in mathematics, statistics, as well as research and business writing.
Upon graduation, I have relocated to San Francisco, CA, to practice my language and have completed since several language courses so my language skills are very good, and I am able to speak English fluently. During student exchange program in Vienna, Austria, I have been working as a legal assistant in an international law firm, There, I have developed sensitivity towards different cultural facets and potential difficulties in cross-cultural communication and teamwork. Classroom discussions on various political, economic, as well as business-oriented topics with students and professors from 6 of all 7 continents also sparked my interest in multilateral cooperation despite different agendas. Reaching an agreement through discussion and shedding light on contrasting opinions, accepting some compromise on each side, or agreeing to disagree in a respectful manner are challenges I enjoy taking on.
In the upcoming period I am planning to apply for PhD programs with emphasis on International Economics and generally focus my career upon graduation on external relations and policy analysis, Therefore, I am convinced that the experience gained through the JPD with the European External Action Service would provide the international perspective needed to thrive in these domains.

Please find out more on my qualifications by reading enclosed resume. Thank you very much in advanced for your consideration. If you have any further questions regarding my candidateship, please contact me via telephone or e-mail.

Kind Regards,

Miklos Nagy
