Dear Sirs or Madams:

I would like to apply to your program Master of Engineering & IT for the 2018 winter term.

My career objective is to become the head of technical department at family’s business, a company dedicated to providing maintenance service for electrical devices and solutions in automation systems in Albania. In order to reach my objective, I want to acquire advanced knowledge to combine information technology and automation. Moreover, to grow and expand our business beyond our borders, I want to become comfortable in global settings. Because Germany is the strongest country in Europe with a sound history of engineering achievement, I want to study in Munich where I can meet my academic and cultural goals.

I am a Albanian undergraduate student of Electronic Engineering at Tirana University. During my studies, I achieved a GPA of 4.2 out of a possible 5.0. As a result of my grades, I earned university scholarships for three semesters. Because I am passionate about automation systems and software design, I enjoy learning and applying my knowledge. After four challenging and enjoyable years, I look forward to graduating in October this year.

My college thesis project and internship was “Use of Monitoring System for Motor Vehicles – case study of BMW”. I developed a software service to provide a SMS messaging service to indicate where the vehicle was located. This internship allowed me to develop a more ambitious and complex project than many of those that my classmates created. For example, our program did not teach complex web development, so I had to learn and apply the required technologies.

I have always enjoyed being involved in leadership roles. In high school, I received several honorable mentions for being one of the top students, and I was the best in my class in senior year. In University, I was a board member of the student committee and president of the student body of my program. Through these experiences, I learned to manage my time effectively and improved my leadership and decision making skills.

When I became senior student, I have started to work in my family’s company. Often I have been required to assume a leadership role where I was supposed to make quick decisions to solve immediate problems. For example, I had to choose the correct solution to address a maintenance concern for a major client while simultaneously managing the receipt of imported merchandise.

As evidence of my dedication for gaining experience in a global setting, I learned English on my own by practicing every day. I did not receive any formal education. By studying in Germany, I will learn and appreciate another important language and culture.

Through my achievements, I have demonstrated a consistent high academic accomplishment and passion for technology. Furthermore, I have demonstrated leadership, initiative, and desire to learn about business and technology in a global setting. If accepted, I will add diversity to your program, and I will do my best to exceed your expectations. I am confident that I will meet my career and personal goals while studying at Munich University of Applied Sciences.

Thank you very much for considering my application and I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely,
